I remember adoring it when it first aired, and the reviews I checked out in the weeks that followed were largely laudatory: I remember AV Club gave it an "A," and Simon Brew, at Den of Geek, whom I like very much, was wildly enthusiastic. And I believe Philip Sandifer, whom you and I have discussed, called it the best Doctor Who of all time. So I'm definitely not alone in my affection for that episode; I was rather shocked to find out later that some folks loathed it, and honestly, I'm unclear why they do. But I don't think I'd ever post a defense of it here; I simply couldn't do it justice the way other, better writers already have.Tommy Kraskerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12564935526936828636noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6768495027896028196.post-33881595995359844722016-03-02T05:05:18.227-05:002016-03-02T05:05:18.227-05:00As ever, your opinions are...uniquely your own. I have a friend, a long-time, deeply committed fan, who gave up on Nu-Who at that point, finding not only the science but the psychology deeply troubling. I think we need post explaining this choice! And checking up on Fiona Cumming's serials - I think I need to rewatch Planet of Fire, as apart from Nicola Bryant's anatomy I recall little of note...tjpieraccinihttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00536427543616664938noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6768495027896028196.post-74899106663577121692015-10-15T14:38:24.678-04:002015-10-15T14:38:24.678-04:00Many thank, Brett. I'm actually in the midst of another Knots Landing Season 14 rewatch, so hope to have a blog entry up about it by year's end.Tommy Kraskerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12564935526936828636noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6768495027896028196.post-75589858481494969382015-09-12T00:04:38.944-04:002015-09-12T00:04:38.944-04:00Why is nobody commenting on these posts? Your Ann Marcus tribute was very nice, and I'm especially intrigued by your comment on season 14 of KNOTS being "the season of television you return to most." Why is that? I watched all of KNOTS seasons 1 through 14 in a crazed marathon of joy some years back and haven't done a rewatch until I started Knots Blogging, but I kinda remember season 14 being like, "That was the last season, and it was pretty good," but you're really talking about it as something special, so I'm curious as to what leaps out about it for you.

Oh yeah, and Mean Comment Alert, but Matthew Perry needs to just get off the screen forever and go away, because he's awful.Knots Bloggerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06733483900336967956noreply@blogger.com
