I think your podcasts have given *me" new appreciation for some of the sillier episodes that I had previously dismissed. I had always taken to Hunter's character-driven scripts, but I admit I had less appreciation for some of the other writers' sensibilities -- in particular, the ones who relied more on the tenets of sketch comedy or farce. Your enthusiasm and your insights on your podcast definitely made me view them in a new light. It's been fascinating, too, to see the results of your recent "favorite episode" poll; there are some lightweight episodes that I might have dismissed that have ranked pretty high; there's no overstating the simple value of making people laugh, and it's lovely to see WKRP -- after 40 years -- still having that power.Tommy Kraskerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12564935526936828636noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6768495027896028196.post-9780001116459725302018-02-12T09:35:28.605-05:002018-02-12T09:35:28.605-05:00Those Blake Hunter episodes really lie at the hear...Those Blake Hunter episodes really lie at the heart of WKRP's success as a sitcom about a pair of families: the Carlsons and the WKRP staff. Given the success of Blake Hunter-penned episodes in our recent WKRP Best Episode Ever tournament (especially No. 8 seed "Baby, It's Cold Inside"'s apparently devoted fanbase) it's clear the 'KRP fans in the know appreciate his nuanced character takes. I also got a brand-new appreciation for "Jennifer And The Will" after doing it for the podcast.
